eShop Builder
The eShop Builder (eSB) can automatically build a web shop according to user's requirements, for example, an online bookshop.
It's especially important that the web shop is completely based on JavaScript. It means that the web shop can work well without any additional technologies, for example, CGI and database, in other words, it can work well even on the free web servers, such as GeoCities and Tripod.
This illustrated webpage quickly teaches you how to use eSB.
Website Frame
The default language of the web shop is an European language, for example, English or French.
You can use another language as the default language, for example, Simplified Chinese, by selecting [Language] listbox.
Enter the title and the email of the web shop respectively in [Title] and [Email] textboxes.
Catalogue Frame
The web shop consists of 1 catalogue at least and 10 catalogues at most. You can decide how many catalogues the web shop has by selecting [Maximal] listbox, for example, 5 catalogues.
The current catalogue is the 1st catalogue after eSB is started. It means that the new record will be added to the 1st catalogue. If you want to add the new record to another catalogue, for example, 5th catalogue, please click on [Current 5] radio button.
Enter the tabs of 10 catalogues respectively in 10 [Tab] textboxes, for example, Art in the 1st one, Business in the 2nd one, Computer in the 3rd one, etc.
Record Frame
You can add a new record to the current catalogue by entering the name and the price of the record respectively in [Name] and [Price] textboxes, then clicking on [Add] button.
Attention: you must add at least 2 records to every catalogue, otherwise the web shop can't work well.
You can't modify or delete a record directly in eSB. Supposing you want to modify or delete the 3th record of the 5th catalogue, you must enter the DATABASE folder, open 5.TXT, manually modify or delete the 3th record, then save 5.TXT.
Tag Frame
The web shop has 15 common tags in English, such as Name and Price. You can use the new tags in another language, for example, in Simplified Chinese, by entering 15 new tags respectively in 15 textboxes.
Click on [build] button to automatically build the web shop. The web shop will be saved in the WEBSHOP folder.
Rebuild Web Shop
Entering the WEBSHOP folder and opening the homepage INDEX.HTM, you can check whether the web shop meets your requirements. If not, rebuild it with eSB. If yes, upload it to your web server, then your web shop is completed.
Click on [Help] button to display the help information which you are reading now.
Click on [Quit] button to terminate eSB.

All webpages of the web shop are generated by 6 template
files saved in the TEMPLATE folder, they are:
(1) INDEX.TXT (generating INDEX.HTM)
(2) CATALOGUE.TXT (generating 1.HTM to 10.HTM)
(3) BUY.TXT (generating BUY.HTM)
(4) PAY.TXT (generating PAY.HTM)
(5) SEARCH.TXT (generating SEARCH.HTM)
(6) ABOUT.TXT (generating ABOUT.HTM)
All template files are composed of HTML, JavaScript and CSS. If you are an advanced user familiar with HTML, JavaScript and CSS, you may maximally customize your web shop by inserting the new contents to these files, or modifying the existing contents of these files.
Troubleshooting
eSB works under Microsoft Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP/2003. The web shop works on Microsoft Internet Explorer 4 and later versions, Netscape Navigator 4 and later versions, and other JavaScript-supporting web browsers.
If eSB can't work under your Windows, please manually copy the system file MSVBVM60.DLL (1.32MB) from the system folder of another computer, by using a floppy disk, to the system folder of your computer. The system folder usually is C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM (95/98/ME) or C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 (NT/2000/XP/2003).
If the web shop can't work on your web browser, please manually enable cookies. For Microsoft Internet Explorer 6, please click on the following menu items: (1) Tools (2) Internet Options (3) Privacy (4) Default (5) OK. For Netscape Navigator 6, please click on the following menu items: (1) Edit (2) Preferences (3) Privacy and Security (4) Cookies (5) Enable All Cookies (6) OK.
